If there’s one hallmark of teaching 3rd grade… It’s testing season. Honestly, I read a statistic somewhere that said third graders sit for more testing hours than even high schoolers… and I can honestly attest to that.
Why…so…much…testing?
Anyway… here is Florida, third grade is a mandatory retention year.
Meaning?
If students don’t pass their end-of-year reading exam, they are retained.
And let me just say…teaching is already stressful… but that sort of pressure is a whole other level of stress.
Testing season = stress 😅 …but it doesn’t have to feel that way in your classroom.
So, to help take a little bit of the edge off the students around testing time, I made these simple testing encouragement tags to give my students a little boost (and honestly… it changes the whole vibe of the room 💛).
Each tag pairs with a small treat or non-food item, a low-prep way to build confidence!
And did I mention you can grab them for free? Details on how are at the end of the post!
